The construction sector is currently facing fierce competition, with costs and schedules continuing to drive decision-making, while the importance of sustainability requirements is expected to grow faster than ever. With longer international supply chains and fluctuating transport costs, more and more players are looking for solutions that are both technically sustainable and cost-effective.

In Malmi, Helsinki, one of the largest renovation projects currently underway in Finland will begin when the Helsinki City Housing Association (HEKA) starts an extensive renovation of Vilppulantie 26, with the aim of improving both living comfort and energy efficiency.

Year-round construction requires solutions that can be implemented in all weathers. The BRIX system combines two key features that set us apart from other methods: a ventilated structure and a prefabricated brick cladding. A ventilated, truly differentiated façade is a damp-proof structure that guarantees a functional and long-lasting façade.

We have expanded our factory and doubled our capacity to serve even larger projects and more customers at the same time – even during peak seasons. Above all, the expansion will strengthen security of supply, predictable schedules and smoother communication at all stages of the project. This will enable us to meet the growing demand in Finland, the Netherlands and the rest of the world.

The iconic Main Post Office building in the centre of Helsinki is currently undergoing a major facade renovation, including the replacement of parts of the facade that have been repaired in previous years to ensure a coherent look. Completed in 1938, the monumental building is located on the city’s parade ground and carries the highest possible protection rating.

In June, BRIX will launch a major new project in Otaniemi, Espoo, along the Ring Road 1. The approximately 6,500 square metre clinker facade of Kiinteistö Oy Technopolis Innopoli 1 will be renovated with a modern and energy-efficient BRIX system.

During 2025, the aim is to strengthen its position as a pioneer of modern exterior brick paving systems in the Nordic market and expand its operations to Denmark and Norway, in addition to Sweden. In Sweden, BRIX has already been operating for about a year – and has made an impressive start.

As our business evolves and grows, we are constantly looking for new ways to improve efficiency, develop our products and reduce our environmental impact. In this spirit, we made a significant change in 2022: we moved the BRIX production plant from Jyväskylä to the Tiiler factory in Mjösund. Now that we have been working together for a long time, we can say that we have made a significant step in making our new plant in Mijrix, where we have built a new production facility.

Arhotie 20 is a block of flats that was renovated with brick cladding manufactured in the BRIX Facades factory. The main contractor was Lujatalo and the design was carried out by architect Tuija Peltonen (Keiko ARK). The project was commissioned by the City of Helsinki Housing Production ATT, project manager Heidi Tuuli-Lääkkö.

A key challenge was the renewal of the 250 mm high support beams above the windows, whose rounded lower part required special solutions.
