Year-round construction requires solutions that can be implemented in all weathers. The BRIX system combines two key features that set us apart from other methods: a ventilated structure and a prefabricated brick cladding. A ventilated, truly differentiated façade is a damp-proof structure that guarantees a functional and long-lasting façade structure.
Prefabrication moves most of the work to controlled factory conditions, ensuring quality and speeding up installation, reducing time spent on site. Prefabricated brick slabs can be installed year-round, in all weathers, facilitating site scheduling and reducing the seasonal impact on the work phases.
Winter installation without heating
Since winter installation does not require the mandatory shrouding of the building and additional heating, we can carry out the installation from either cranes or scaffolding, regardless of the weather. Only the seams between the brick slabs will require extra coils, but even these can be left as they are until warmer weather and do not need to be specially protected. By eliminating the need for additional heating during winter installation, the site’s energy costs and emissions are significantly reduced.
The possibility to carry out the work from cranes makes it easier to organise the site, frees up space in the building yard and reduces visible working time on the facade. This is often more convenient for building owners and users. We can choose the installation method on a project-by-project basis, taking into account site conditions, yard accessibility and site safety plans.
Factory production brings quality
The prefabricated nature of brick cladding brings a level of quality repeatability that can be difficult to achieve in site conditions as weather and factors change. Manufacturing takes place in warm, uniform and optimised conditions using standard methods. This is reflected in the predictability of installation on site: each tile is designed and manufactured specifically for the project, and is identified by a bar-coded identifier, giving it a defined place in the façade. This means that the tiles fit as planned, the installation can be carried out in a predictable and rapid manner, without any weather-dependent work.
Overall, the combination of ventilated and prefabricated brick cladding reduces the risk of errors and balances resource requirements regardless of the season. This means a long-lasting, ventilated façade solution that does not lock site schedules to the seasons. For contractors, it provides a predictable installation process and allows for reduced protection and heating requirements. For property owners and housing associations, the end result is a durable, long-lasting facade that is less intrusive to install – even in the middle of winter.
